Not so good at this

Ok, so apparently I am not so good at this blogging thing. Again, it is because I have had a couple of friends recently ask me about my posts that I come back to this forum. Apparently, for some I am "a voice in the wilderness," a "social conscious", a "voice unheard." I am not sure exactly what all that means or if it is a good thing.

I will say that being on the CTCYM trip last week reminded me of the great painful divides in our country. Divides of education. Divides of wealth. Divides of race. Who am I that I can afford to go out to eat when just this morning a woman did not have money to eat at all? Who am I that I can receive health care when a brother goes without basic medicines? Who am I that sit in an air conditioned office when an 84-year old woman has not electricity? Who am I that I am not weeping in pain and changing my ways?

Maybe I don't blog more because I am not sure anyone really wants to hear the questions I find myself asking.

Keep asking those questions! I need to ask them, be challenged by my and your answers,
repent-turn around, and respond with action!

at the same time those who are asking these sorts of questions also need one another to keep each other sane. I find myself looking at the world sometimes and saying to myself "this whole place has gone mad! Is there anyone seeing what I see?"

So asking or blogging what you do keeps me aware that I am not alone and others are asking/seeing the same things.

Perhaps the more awareness the more we can move to a critical mass of people which forces change.

hear hear. your voice is an important voice b/c those of us who know you know that you are asking these questions (which are some of the same questions we are asking). your voice is important b/c people need to hear senior pastors and people of importance asking these questions. agree with Jason and with Mike, we need to continue to hear your voice for countless reasons.

And yes, the next step to your dilemma is contemplative prayer followed by discernment followed by contemplative action.

I want to know the questions you are asking (well, knowing what questions you are asking makes me want to know more of the questions you are asking...)

Don't quit - keep it coming. There's something about putting it out there that is healing, redemptive, and also great fodder for community painted more broadly than you'd otherwise have the chance at.
